Myself Adleen Nazir, hailing from Bota Kadal, Lal Bazar, Srinagar. Currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in “ANAESTHESIA TECHNOLOGY” From “Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology”, Srinagar. My journey with” KASHMIR EDUCATION INITIATIVE” began in the year 2018, when I was in my 9th class. The day, when I started my journey with KEI, I got the privilege of becoming a KEI scholar. I still remember the day, when I went to the KEI office for the first time. It was completely a different experience in my life, when everyone was completely unknown to me and I was a kind of extreme introvert and shy person that I couldn’t even be able to introduce myself properly to everybody there. Since, I started the journey with KEI, I got the chance to change myself into a completely different personality. KEI just being like a family helped me to boost my courage, raised my determination towards my goals and ambitions. Prior to this, I got the privilege to become a part of most beneficial workshops. It built in me, the concept of mentorship programmes and the significance of communication and leadership skills. Besides that, I actively participated in workshops of “PSYCHO SOCIAL WELL BEING” as well as “META_COGNITION” that made a positive impact and surely a notable changes in my life. KEI swiftly ushered changes in my life, offering not just only monetary scholarships, but also invaluable mentorship programmes.
Since, the Covid_19 era just shattered everyone all around the world, it became completely difficult to continue studies at home, but KEI like a backbone supported in every possible way, either it was by providing video lectures to each and every student or by providing books or study materials, ensuring that each and every student got the necessary tools for learning. Despite of all the challenges of Covid, KEI played a pivotal role in my personal development through various tech workshops to personality, mental and emotional development programmes, I participated in every webinar and online workshops, discovering my interests and aspirations. I owe a significant part of my transformation to KEI, which helped me chasing my goals as a medical student, providing me directions and wings to my interests. As a medical student, I started my journey to become a doctor or a medical professional. KEI helped me to know more about the profession and helped me to boost more interest in all the opportunities in the medical field. Through entrance exams, I got selected in fields like Physiotherapy, BUMS, BSc in Agriculture, and B.Sc in Anaesthesia Technology. My interest of becoming an anaesthesiologist was in depth in my mind since years ago, and I choose to join that very profession.
I am very grateful to KEI for boosting my passion, encouraging me, introducing me to peacebuilding leadership skills. The opportunities provided by KEI always helped me to comprehend the opportunities around. While, the four years scholarship journey may have concluded, but the consistence of KEI's team, inquiring about my journey's progress and offering assistance, remain unwavering and the impact of KEI will remain there indefinitely.
