Ramadan Mubarak to you and your loved ones! We live in truly unprecedented and challenging times. I pray for your well being and that of your loved ones, during this holy month and beyond. The month of Ramadan allows us to reflect, to bond spiritually with our families, to count our many blessings for the rich bounties received and to express our thanks for the same. Expressing gratitude through prayer, service to humanity and charity during the holy month, amplifies their rewards many times over. The Holy Prophet (SAWS) remarked that “A man’s true wealth is the good he does in this world.” To acquire and seek knowledge and education is a sacred duty beholden upon all of us. At KEI, we endeavor to provide access to holistic education to highly talented but underprivileged children in Kashmir. As we navigate through the current pandemic, our unwavering commitment to the KEI mission remains paramount and our core values continue to serve as beacons to guide us through these challenging times. 

It is our pleasure to inform you that your generous support over the last year has allowed KEI to:

  • Expand our core High School Scholarship program to include an additional 100 scholars for the 2020 academic year thereby increasing its total strength to 800 scholars

  • Expand our “Special Needs/ Vocational Opportunities” programs to provide  economic assistance to families whose livelihoods are materially impacted by the current crisis

  • Develop localized educational content for the general scholar body of Kashmir to facilitate distance learning and provide them with tools that assist in holistic well being during the lockdown period

  • Conduct information sessions for our scholars to educate them about safety measures and prevention guidelines pertaining to Covid-19, allay their concerns, and impress upon them to use the lockdown period to develop additional skills 

  • Focus on the mental well-being of the scholar body at large through increasing awareness, mental health screening, and providing access to experienced mental health professionals on a case to case basis.

While the challenges we face are huge, I want to assure you that our ambition continues undiminished and with your support our resolve to tackle these is stronger than ever. In this holy month, while considering charities, we request you to make KEI your preferred choice.
