14 year old Shakir Hassan Mir of Poshkreeri Anantnag has received one-on-one mentoring and individual attention as a KEI scholar which he believes is making a significant difference in his life. KEI identified Shakir as a bright and promising young student. Timely intervention made it possible for him to attend a better school. Barely literate, Shakir’s father has pinned all his hopes on Shakir and KEI is working hard to help this young boy meet such expectations. “I enrolled my son in [redacted] school due to lack of finances but KEI suggested that I move him to a better school and helped him secure a position besides providing the necessary finance” said Ghulam Hassan Mir. “It was only possible by KEI intervention that he is now able to attend this school where his skills will be honed better”. A civil service aspirant, Shakir is part of KEI scholarship programme since 2011 and according to his father it has made a huge difference to his education as well as career outlook. KEI is honored to be a part of this journey.
