Sabra Bhat is a young Kashmiri-American working in the international development sector. She graduated magna cum laude from Bryn Mawr College with a B.A. in Anthropology and concentration in Gender Studies. Sabra joined Philadelphia Teaching Fellows as a math teacher where she cultivated her passion for education reform and working with youth. Afterwards, she joined Kashmir Education Initiative as an intern, where she assisted with synthesizing demographic and academic information about KEI-sponsored students, and conducting field work that assessed the needs of these students. Sabra also worked with Mercy Corps, Kashmir as a project officer of GOAL (Generating Opportunities for Advancing Leadership), which focused on providing critical leadership development training to over 250 youth. Sabra is now with Women’s Campaign International, which advances opportunities for women to actively participate in public advocacy, market and political processes.
